Board of Directors

C. James Judson, Chairman

Jim is a retired senior partner at a prominent Seattle-based law firm and is a board member and co-founder of Eden Rock. Jim was previously Vice President at Eagle River Investments, Founding President at McCaw International/Nextel International and Founding President at McCaw UniCom Shanghai JV. He has extensive experience in the wireless industry and has helped develop some of the world's largest cellular operators. Jim has served on the boards of China Unicom, Nextel International, NextLink, Lumera, Port Blakely Tree Farms (compensation committee, chair of audit committee), Garrett and Ring (compensation committee), Joshua Green Corporation (audit committee), Welco Lumber (compensation committee), Airbiquity (chair of finance committee), Sonata Capital (owner, board member), MediaCast (owner, board member), Seattle Institute for Biomedical and Clinical Research (board member, audit committee), Aubeta (board member) and TSK America (board member). Jim serves on the Boards of Trustees of the Pacific Northwest Ballet Foundation, the Yosemite National Institutes (emeritus), the Pacific Science Center (chair, finance committee) and the Washington Athletic Club (vice chair, finance committee). He was listed as a "Super Lawyer," in Washington Law & Politics, 1999-2008. Jim attended Stanford University, B.A. cum laude 1966, and Stanford Law School, LLB. 1969 and was Executive Editor of the Stanford Law Review.

Bruce Brda

Bruce Brda is senior vice president of Motorola Solutions Global Solutions & Services business. In this transformational role the Global Solutions and Services is responsible for the creation, sale and delivery of Solutions and Services. Bruce leads a worldwide organization of dedicated communications technology experts who serve as trusted partners to customers across the entire life-cycle of their mission-critical mobility investments. Prior to this role, he led Motorola’s Global Networks business that brought to market a full range of wireless networks systems, applications and services.  From cellular networks to the very latest in 4G wireless broadband systems, this business enabled wireless operators to provide uninterrupted access to information and a compelling entertainment and communication experience to consumers. Bruce guided the sale of the Networks business to Nokia Siemens Networks, which was finalized in April 2011. Previously, Bruce gained extensive international sales and marketing experience in Motorola’s Mobile Devices business, responsible for annual sales of up to 13B. During his leadership tenure, he directly managed the go-to-market function for all key regions ranging from Greater China to North and Latin America and also led the Global Sales organization. Before joining the Mobile Devices business, Bruce was vice president of sales and operations for Motorola’s infrastructure business.  He managed all aspects of Motorola’s relationship with Nextel, one of Motorola’s largest customers globally at that time. He also managed Motorola’s network business with Sprint. Bruce has 25 years of high-tech leadership, sales, engineering and business development experience, including roles ranging across the telecommunications and electronics industries. Prior to joining Motorola in 1989, Bruce worked as director of engineering for Dukane Corporation and as a design engineer for Northrop Corporation. Bruce holds a bachelor’s of science degree from Southern Illinois University and a master’s of science degree from Illinois Institute of Technology.

Dave Gibbons

Dave has 20 years of experience in the telecommunications industry and is the CEO and co-founder of Opanga and a board member and co-founder of Eden Rock. Dave is involved in developing new wireless technologies into global, high-volume deployments including GSM, CDMA and OFDM on both the network and terminal sides. Dave's assignments have included senior management roles in business development, engineering and operations and his previous positions include President at Elektrobit Inc, Vice President and CTO for AT&T Wireless Services Broadband Wireless Access (OFDM) business and numerous roles within Motorola and Nokia.

Chaz Immendorf

Chaz is an 20 year veteran of the wireless industry with 15 years of leadership experience in the development and deployment of advanced wireless systems. Chaz is a co-founder of Eden Rock Communications and has served as its President since its inception in 2007. Prior to Eden Rock, Chaz led substantial R&D programs in the development of advanced wireless technology products while serving as the SVP of Innovation for SR Telecom, General Manager for SR Telecom USA, and Vice President of Software Development for Netro Corporation. From 1995-2001, Chaz served at AT&T as the Director of Software Development for the AT&T OFDMA BWA development program “Project Angel." Chaz began his career in wireless telecommunications in 1991 with Motorola in Schaumburg, IL. He holds a BS in Electrical Engineering with highest honors from Rutgers University College of Engineering in New Jersey.

Phil Roth

Phil is a CPA currently in private practice.  He has a 36-year track record of successful financial management including a senior level position with a "big 8" accounting firm, founding partner of a medium size CPA firm, and a ten year stint as SVP and CFO of a medium sized manufacturing corporation before returning to private practice. Phil presently serves on the board of directors for wireless companies Opanga Networks, Inc and Eden Rock Communications, LLC on behalf of major investors, Pacific Wireless Ventures, LLC and Pacific Wireless Ventures II, LLC respectively.  Phil is also a director of the Foundation for Energy Therapies, Inc, an international not-for-profit company organized for research, education, and integration of ancient and modern forms of energy medicine into the United States health care system.  Phil has a legal education which includes an LL.M in taxation from the University of Florida and is a member of the Washington State Bar Association as well as the Washington Society of CPAs.

Gary Sledge

Gary is the President of Kellett Investment Corp where he manages a large portfolio of diverse investments including real estate, investments in private companies and hedge funds. His 30+ years of financial and operations experience includes serving as Chief Financial Officer of Impac Hotel Group, one of the largest hotel companies in the US, and Technology Ventures, an incubator of several early stage technology companies. Prior to this, Gary held various leadership roles with The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company and Johnstown American Companies. Gary holds a BBA Business Administration with a Major in Accounting from Georgia State University.
